Which data can be deleted?

CarPool stores group data such as room codes, group names, participant names, roles, destinations, rides, cost balances and technical license information. Classic personal user accounts with passwords are not created.

Local data on your device, such as language, onboarding status, the last used room code or consent settings, can also be removed by deleting the browser or app data on the device.

Delete data inside the app

  1. Open your CarPool room.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. As an admin, use Delete group and data.
  4. Confirm the action with the admin PIN.

This immediately locks the room for all members and marks it as deleted. This is initially a technical lock, not necessarily the immediate physical removal of every record. Archive, license, payment and evidence data is deleted or anonymized once it is no longer needed for retention obligations, support or abuse prevention.

What remains?

Payment, license, support and abuse-prevention records may be retained where this is required for recovery, legal documentation, fraud prevention or tax and accounting obligations. These records are not used for advertising.

If you installed CarPool as a web app, you may additionally remove local data by clearing the browser/app data or deleting the installed web app from your device.
